For my regular storytelling package, the booking system aims to offer flexibility to clients where they need to pay the Creative Fee first and then purchase a Gallery Collection later once their photos are ready.

The Creative Fee is a time and talent retainer to book a session with me. This includes all the preparation, communication, dedicated shooting time with me, the post-processing work including culling and editing, resulting in the delivery of a carefully curated private online gallery shareable to friends and family. This covers much of the thoughtful planning and work that goes into every session.

When your gallery is ready, you will receive your custom slideshow preview access and a look through your gallery photos. You will have 24 hours to purchase one of three Gallery Collections of your choice. This way, you can make an informed choice as to what inclusions you would like to get after looking through your entire gallery.

Once you have purchased a Collection, you will receive full gallery access for 30 days and you can use this time to download digital files included and avail of any print product/credit included in your Collection.

For all-inclusive packages, they are paid in full. However, for higher packages, you can opt for a 50-50 installment plan where 50% is required to book while the balance is paid two weeks before your session.

Collections have been thoughtfully put together to give clients the very best value from the get go. Upgrading to a higher collection after the 24-hour preview will not be possible and regular rates will apply after this period.

My regular session will last for 90 minutes. Some people think this might be too long but I assure you that 90 minutes can fly by pretty fast especially with younger kids as I never rush them and make sure they feel comfortable with me.

I also love doing activity-based storytelling so if we wanted to do a few things during the session, this duration will allow us to slow our roll and make some time for transitions and, above all, we will have more time to let everything unfold in its own special way. This is where the magic lies - in the going with the flow and following your lead.

At the very least, if we do think it’s too long, we can always end earlier.

To capture your family in a more authentic way, I cap the number of people at 6. This way, we have ample time to do portraiture and creative documentary during your session.

We can hop on a call so I can understand what you are looking for and recommend the best package.

However, I do recommend the longer Slow Flow package. The more family members, the more portrait configurations we need to do so a longer shooting time will be essential.

I recommend doing the Slow Flow as it will allow us to have ample time to cover 2–3 locations and outfit changes.

The Slow Flow package is an all-inclusive package that you purchase as a whole. It has a longer duration for those who want generational sessions, engagement or pre-wedding sessions, or a documentary session that spans across multiple locations. Since it is also a longer session and is potentially shared across family members, the package thoughtfully includes a $5,000 print credit that can be used in my online gallery shop so you can order print products of your choice.

You can pay this package in full OR in 50-50 installments—50% to retain my services and the balance to be paid 2 weeks before your session date. Should you book your session within two weeks of your preferred date, payment in full is required.

Many families would like to do a maternity and newborn session combo OR simply plan to do two sessions within a year to cover different types of milestones like, say, a cake smash + holiday session or back-to-school portraits + annual family photos.

The Homestead is perfect for those who are looking to get the most value across two sessions. You get all inclusive gallery files plus a $5,000 print credit that can be used in my online gallery shop so you can order print products of your choice. With this combo package, you can save at least $4,300 compared to booking two separate sessions.

Because of the nature of the inclusions, the Homestead package is an all-inclusive package that needs to be purchased as a whole. But you will get the option to pay in 50-50 installments - 50% to retain my services and the balance will be paid 2 weeks before your first session. Should you book the package within two weeks of your first shoot date, payment in full is required.

To secure slots in my calendar, you will book your first session online. You can then choose to pay in full or pay in installments. Should you choose the latter, your second installment will be charged to the credit card on file two weeks before your session date. If you didn’t book via the website, you can pay for this via bank transfer, PayMe or FPS.

After you are booked in, you will receive a code for your second session and a scheduling link via email and/or chat message. You don’t have to schedule the sessions in one go, as long as they are both done within a year of purchase. But I do recommend booking at least 3 months before to get your preferred schedule.

I created the Quick Roll for those people who simply want a short but sweet portrait session with me. It’s perfect for Womanity or self-love sessions, fatherhood / motherhood minis, an annual refresh of classic family or children’s portraits where everyone is smiling into the camera, breastfeeding sessions, or cake smashes.

It is recommended to book at least 3 months before so you can get your preferred date. The calendar has very limited slots so I tend to book out early.

Guidance starts as early as the pre-shoot planning. We will chat and discuss how we can make your session the best and most comfortable it can be.

During the session itself, I will definitely guide you through it and we will also leave some space to wait and see where your connection takes us.

I promise it will be as guided as you need it to be. Simply trust in the process. Lean into your connection and love for each other. Be fully present and enjoy your time together and I will do the rest.

I make it a point to be very responsive to my clients. Clients are welcome to message me via email or Whatsapp and I strive to reply within 24–48 hours. My administrative working hours are Monday to Friday, usually between 11am to 3pm as I shoot either in the morning or late afternoon. Rest assured I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I can also do a Zoom consult session or phone call should you wish to ask me more questions about my rates and the overall process.

Booked clients also get a Zoom meet and greet x prep call before their session so we can go over questions, outfits, locations, etc. They are also free to consult with me for any print products post-session.

I shoot all around Hong Kong. I do recommend choosing a location that means something to you—it will make your photos more meaningful. I will also share my favorites and recommendations so we do it somewhere that is perfect for you and your family.

I also have my studio, which is really great for a homey and intimate feel. I strongly recommend doing newborn sessions, 100 days and cake smashes in the studio because it has a lot of natural light that gives families beautiful timeless photos.

The Nestology aesthetic is heavily anchored on capturing authentic, everyday moments between you and your loved ones. I very much lean into a mix of portraiture and creative documentary using natural light because I believe in the beauty and magic of your everyday. I go for a timeless, classic look and feel in my imagery with nostalgic photographs peppered in.

Shoots will always be about how you and your loved ones naturally interact with each other. Genuine acts of love, playfulness, and warmth will always be the best "poses" and give you the most amazing photos!

Hair-styling and makeup are not a must. They are not included in my rates. However, I have hair and makeup artists that I have worked with before and can recommend should you need or want one.

I believe in you showing up in clothes that you love and feel comfortable in. While I do not have a client wardrobe, I do provide a comprehensive session guide with outfit suggestions as part of our preparation and would be happy to jump on a call to discuss ideas, look at outfits or review Pinterest boards with you.

You can also opt to add on a virtual styling service for an additional fee. Vanessa Campbell of Pixel’d and Frey’d is the loveliest stylist who can help you find the right outfits straight from your closet or help you shop for some options, depending on your preferences. She is based in the US but she can support you via online calls and messaging.

For HK Island and Kowloon shoots, travel fees are inclusive in the package prices. For New Territories and Outlying Islands, there will be an additional charge of $500.

Absolutely! During our pre-shoot call, we can discuss these items and see how we can best integrate these items. Some examples would be ultrasound photos, baby shoes, toys, heirloom jewelry, old photos of grandparents, picnic blankets, flowers, food, etc.

Outdoors

Hong Kong is beautifully blessed with great outdoor locations. For outdoor shoots, I recommend doing it during the two hours before sunset (usually between 4–6 p.m. during fall/winter and 5–7 p.m. during spring/summer) to give a warmer, golden tone to your photos.

My favorite however are sunrise sessions and typically they go between 6–8:30 a.m. I would always recommend going earlier for soft, clean light and zero crowds.

We can also do it outside of these hours with a lot more shadow play.

A special note on urban shoots: I recommend doing urban shoots on Sunday mornings. I don’t have Sundays available in my online calendar but just request this during the pre-booking process so we can find a Sunday that works best.

Studio

In my studio, I also use natural light as I feel it gives you the most authentic photos. The studio is designed in a way to make it feel like home but with free space to take beautiful portraits or styled sets.

Home

Shooting at home can never go wrong. It is the place where you are most comfortable. Home shoots work especially well for intimate maternity sessions, newborn shoots, or for families with toddlers. The best time for a home shoot is when the most light is pouring in through your windows.

For first pregnancies, I usually recommend doing this between 32–36 weeks so we can capture a prominent belly. For subsequent pregnancies, it could be earlier, at around 28–32 weeks, since women show sooner. However, women’s bodies are all different—so the rule of thumb is to do it when your belly is a good size but you feel comfortable and well enough to move around.

Most newborn photographers recommend doing it within 2 weeks after birth, with 10 days being the most popular time. This period is when your baby is sleepiest and posing babies will be much easier. You get more shots focused on your little one during this period. Also, that newborn look is fleeting since babies change their appearance really fast so documenting this newborn phase will be priceless.

With that said, I do not do stylized newborn poses much and really focus on natural family interaction more. I have many moms and dads who request to do their newborn shoot later, ranging from 3 to 6 weeks. Babies are chubbier and moms have recovered from delivery by then.

You can also choose to do a 100-day milestone session instead and it’s one of my favorite sessions too since babies smile and laugh more.

At the end of the day, it will depend on your preference of what you would like to capture. I try to be as flexible as possible for my families so you can choose a date first and once the baby is born, you can reach out to me if you wish to change your schedule and I will do my best to accommodate you based on my availability.

Your slideshow preview access will be sent via email within 3–4 weeks after your session. You will then have full gallery access for 30 days.

All prints and products will be delivered to your delivery address as soon as they are ready. This is all done by third-party international print labs so it will depend on their production and shipping lead times.

Rescheduling due to (i) weather conditions, (ii) family emergency / sickness / illness / health concerns (with medical certificate), or (iii) government-related or -issued regulatory requirements is completely fine. The new schedule will be based on both of our availabilities.

I edit all curated images in my signature style and I do basic retouching to each and every one such as removing minor blemishes and environmental distractions. However, I intentionally try not to overly retouch as my style and philosophy is to capture families authentically during a given moment in time. I want to celebrate you just as you are because you are already so beautiful.

But if you wish to have a few of your favorite photos from your online gallery further retouched, I can do this for an additional fee depending on the work required.

Yes, you can! Just fill up the form in our Gift page. Since most people wouldn’t like their recipients to pay for anything else, gift vouchers will be in the form of all-inclusive packages.

Once you pay for the package, we'll send you a confirmation email with a link where you can fill in your recipient's information, choose how to send it to them, and even add a note!

Some packages will include a print credit amount that you can use to order different print products from your online gallery. Products vary from loose prints and framed photos to albums and deckled prints.

All prints come from international professional print labs that I have carefully chosen for their quality.
